iRobot i8 Repair Issues – No Log Records, Poor Customer Service

I sent my iRobot i8 robot vacuum to the authorized service center Byfix under warranty after it malfunctioned. The device was received by the service center on April 2, 2024. After an inspection, I was informed over the phone that the issue was due to a burned-out Wi-Fi card, allegedly caused by fluctuations in the electrical grid. They claimed this was not covered under warranty, but that they had log records showing when the failure occurred, proving it was an electrical issue. I was told to pay for the repair myself and try to claim the cost from the electricity provider.

I reluctantly paid ₺5666 for the repair. Then, on top of that, I had to cover the return shipping fee of ₺316. After constant follow-ups, I finally received my repaired vacuum on May 2, 2024. However, weeks later, when I requested a technical service report, the document I received did not specify the exact date or time of the failure.

I repeatedly called and requested a proper invoice to submit to the electricity company. After weeks of delays, I finally received an invoice on June 11, 2024, even though I had made the payment back on April 22. The invoice only stated ‘repair fee’, with no mention of the Wi-Fi or mainboard replacement that was supposedly damaged by voltage issues. The electricity company requires an exact failure date, which iRobot's service center claims to have but refuses to provide, despite my repeated requests.

After more delays and excuses, I was promised that Can Bey, the responsible person, would call me. I had to go through great efforts to reach him, only to receive no resolution. Despite iRobot's claim that log records exist, they have still not provided the voltage failure timestamp that I need to file my claim.

I bought iRobot because I trusted its quality, paying more than standard vacuum brands. However, the horrible technical service experience has been exhausting. After months of chasing them, I am left without proper documentation, unable to recover my repair costs.

I strongly advise against buying iRobot products based on my experience. I demand iRobot to step in immediately, ensure their technical service provides the necessary log records, and compensate me for my financial losses. iRobot should also reevaluate its service providers to prevent future customers from going through this same nightmare.
