ING Bank Account Suddenly Closed Without Warning Or Access To Funds

On November 11, 2025, around noon, I noticed that I could no longer access my ING Bank digital banking account. I had received no prior warning, explanation, or notification. When I couldn’t log in, I called customer service and was told that I would no longer be able to use my account and had to visit a branch. At the branch, I was informed that my account would be permanently closed due to “too many transactions” and could not be reopened. However, I only transferred fixed amounts to family members, my hairdresser, and a few regular contacts — never large sums. I also earned several rewards through ING Bank and was about to benefit from the 90-day e-Orange Account privileges and the “Refer a Friend” campaign, but I lost these opportunities due to the closure. My account holds approximately 250,000₺ in balance, investments, and deposits. Additionally, I am expecting a refund from Emlak Konut under the TOKİ housing payment plan. Since my account is closed, I cannot access my existing funds, receive refunds, or carry out investment transactions. This situation has caused significant inconvenience and financial loss. When I contacted customer service again, no solution was offered; I was told I would never be able to use my account again and should not have refunds sent to it. All information was provided verbally — I received no written notice or official document. The last four digits of my national ID are 8440. I request that my account be reactivated, my grievance resolved, and a written official explanation provided.

Hello ING Bank officials. Look, I haven't been able to access my account for days, I don't know if my refund transfers have arrived, I don't know the status of my account, I can't use my money, I can't invest, I can't make payments, and you are not giving me any explanation as to why you closed my account. You just say 'policy' and nothing else. I have not done anything illegal or anything that would violate the policy or the contract. Most of the people I transferred money to are my relatives and the amounts are the same on regular dates.

Today, I went to the ING Bank Bursa branch to get information and withdraw the money in my accounts. I was met with a very rude attitude. They told me that my accounts are active but access is restricted, meaning if I sign, they will give me my money, but my accounts will be closed because a closure order has been issued. I said that the situation is currently under review and that I only want to withdraw money from my account and wait without closing my accounts until the situation is resolved, whether positively or negatively. However, they told me that this would not be possible, that I had to withdraw my money all at once, and that the account had to be closed.

There has still been no response, no explanation has been given, and they do not allow me to file a lost or stolen report. They don't even connect me to customer service. If money is withdrawn from my card or if there is a decrease in my accounts, you will be personally responsible.
