In June 2023, during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday, anticipating a price increase, I made an early reservation for 9 nights at a hotel in Kuşadası. When I called to confirm the reservation on the same day, the hotel asked me to cancel, stating they couldn't accept my reservation at this price due to upcoming changes. I contacted hotels.com customer service, explained the issue, and they reached out to the hotel. I don't know the details of their communication, but Mr. M assured me in May that they would cover any price difference and arrange for us to stay in a different hotel of the same standard, ensuring we wouldn't be inconvenienced.
In the second week of May, I called again and spoke with a different customer representative, who did not connect me with someone who speaks Turkish. I tried to explain the situation as best as I could in English. They assured me that within 72 hours, they would resolve the issue over the course of more than a month.
A week passed, and there was no written or phone response. Hotels.com, are you behind your customers? Why should I trust you to make a reservation again? Sare Hotel, what kind of irresponsibility is this? What kind of approach is this? If your prices are going to change, don't set a price. Don't open reservations! And don't call me later asking to cancel the reservation!
