Half a year ago, our company rented a pair of Ford EcoSport vehicles from Hertz. One of them malfunctioned and left us stranded on the road. One week later, they reported that the turbo had failed and mentioned that additional inspections were still in progress. Later, they claimed that the engine had burned out, stating that the maintenance was overdue by 2000 km. Nevertheless, upon surrendering the vehicle to the tow truck, we observed that the engine was operational initially, only to abruptly cease functioning after a mere 10 seconds (we possess visual documentation to substantiate this claim). There were no prior indications of any maintenance or engine problems; out of nowhere, the engine abruptly shut down while driving, leaving my colleague to skillfully bring the car to a stop. Despite all of this, they were unwilling to honor the warranty. They initially demanded ₺352,000, but later reduced it to ₺252,000 without our approval, and then sent us an invoice. We quickly canceled it, but after two weeks, the same invoice appeared once more, and we sent it back again. In addition, the replacement vehicle they gave us, another Ford EcoSport, showed engine malfunction warnings at 27,000 km. We promptly notified the company, who then directed us to the service center. However, due to a high volume of appointments, we were only able to secure a slot a week later. After we informed the rental company about the issue, they promptly replaced the vehicle with a different one. Once more, it was a Ford EcoSport. We are uncertain about the timing of any potential vehicle breakdown.
These vehicles experience significant motor problems due to turbo malfunctions, and it seems unjust for them to transfer the expenses of issues unrelated to tenants onto us. We kindly request assistance from Ford customer service regarding this issue.
