I Paid ₺1,500 to Fix a Name Error on My Gotogate Ticket but Still Missed My Flight

I purchased an international flight ticket through Gotogate, but my last name was spelled incorrectly on the booking. I immediately contacted customer service to fix it, and the representative confirmed the correction could be made—for an additional fee of ₺1,500. I provided everything they asked for, including a copy of my passport, and paid the full fee without delay.

However, on the day of my flight, the airline refused to accept the ticket because the last name correction had not been properly processed. I was denied boarding, and in a panic, had to travel across Istanbul from Istanbul Airport to Sabiha Gökçen to buy another ticket from a different airline for the same day and time. I incurred both financial loss and stress due to Gotogate's negligence.

I contacted Gotogate multiple times after the incident. Although representatives admitted their mistake and promised compensation, they have not refunded anything and keep brushing me off. They took the money for both the unused ticket and the name correction but provided no resolution.

Worse, since Gotogate is an international company, I can’t even escalate this through Turkey’s Consumer Arbitration Committee. I was left stranded and financially burdened because of their incompetent and unreliable service. I’m calling on Gotogate to immediately refund both the flight fare and the name correction fee. No customer should be left stranded because of a mistake the company promised to fix but didn’t.
