GetYourGuide Took My Money but Failed to Secure My Ticket to Sagrada Família

I had a deeply disappointing experience on a tour I purchased through GetYourGuide for a visit to Sagrada Família in Barcelona. On April 25, 2026, our group of three arrived at the site approximately one hour before our 10:00 AM slot. The guide showed up, the tour began, and everything seemed to be going normally.
It then emerged that GetYourGuide had never actually purchased an entry ticket to Sagrada Família in my name. Even though my reservation appeared as confirmed in the system and I had received ticket details by email, no entry ticket had been issued for me by Sagrada Família. GetYourGuide had collected my payment in full, yet I was unable to enter because the actual entry ticket had never been obtained — and I was left stranded.
When I spoke with the tour guide, I was told there was nothing they could do and that my ticket had simply not been purchased. About two hours after the scheduled start time, GetYourGuide emailed me suggesting I cancel the reservation, and following that cancellation, my ticket cost was refunded. However, I want to make it absolutely clear that this refund does not come close to addressing the harm I suffered.
I do not live anywhere near Barcelona — I traveled a great distance to be there. Sagrada Família is something I have wanted to see for years, and this mistake meant I missed what was, for me, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Returning to Barcelona is simply not a realistic option for me. For this reason, I am not willing to accept only a ticket refund — I am demanding additional compensation for the wasted time, the profound disappointment, and the irreplaceable opportunity that was taken from me due to GetYourGuide's failure.
Regarding reservation number GYG6H8BWQ56Y, I am requesting a detailed explanation from GetYourGuide, a formal acknowledgment of responsibility, and compensation that goes beyond a simple refund and genuinely reflects the full extent of what I lost.
