Gesmoda Refused My Refund and Forced Me to Accept Store Credit Instead

Hi — I bought a dress from a company called Gesmoda, and I liked the size 44. But after checking their boutique on Trendyol, I thought size 46 would fit better and, since it was in stock, I bought that one too. Once I tried both, I decided neither looked good on me and wanted to return them. I managed to get a return code through Trendyol, but couldn’t get one from the company’s own website — so I contacted customer service. They told me that because the items are in the “evening dress” category, returns aren’t allowed. If I send the item back within 3 days, I can only get an exchange — no refund. Even then, the money wouldn’t go back to my account; it would be credited as store balance, and I’d have to use it within a month.

Their approach violates the law (Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Distance Contracts Regulation), according to which a buyer can return a purchase within 14 days — no explanation needed. I demand that they correct their misconduct, refund my money, and change how they treat customers. I expect to be contacted as soon as possible. If not, I will file a complaint with consumer court and with CIMER. The dress cost $44. The way their customer service scolded me, and their failure to inform me via Instagram that evening dresses are non-returnable, is unacceptable.
