Ford Kuga 1.5 Ecoblue Titanium Timing Chain Manufacturing Defect

I am the owner of a 2020 Ford Kuga 1.5 Ecoblue Titanium. I purchased my vehicle approximately one year ago, and it currently has 78,000 kilometers on it. About a month ago, I noticed a noise coming from the timing chain in my vehicle. Based on my research and information gathered from user forums, it is known that in this model, the timing chain is 7 mm instead of 8 mm due to a manufacturing issue, and this has led to serious malfunctions such as chain breakage. The Citroen brand, which uses the same engine, has launched a recall campaign due to a similar issue. I spoke verbally with Şırnak Dönüşüm Oto Ford Authorized Service. At the service, I was informed that the timing chain, camshaft, and cylinder head cover need to be replaced as a set before the vehicle reaches 90,000 kilometers, and that the cost would be borne by me. However, since this malfunction originates from manufacturing and involves parts that are not replaced during any routine maintenance, I do not accept that the resulting inconvenience and financial burden should be imposed on me. Although my warranty period has expired, I request that this chronic, manufacturing-related defect be covered by Ford free of charge. Otherwise, I would like to state that, taking into account the recall decisions of other brands that set a precedent and the grievances experienced, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and pursue legal action. The license plate of my vehicle is: 06 cbk 637. If deemed necessary, I can bring the vehicle to your authorized service center for inspection. In order to prevent your customers from experiencing grievances and to avoid your brand being associated with a negative image, I kindly request that the defective part caused by a manufacturing error be replaced free of charge. Thank you in advance for the actions you will take.

Dear Ford brand, your authorized department has not contacted me. If I am not contacted by 29.08.2025, I will seek my rights as a consumer through other channels. A general copy-paste response will not solve the issue. It is very wrong for your brand, which has been known for years and is considered trustworthy in the eyes of consumers, to be this unresponsive; it damages your brand vision. My request is that your manufacturing defect be fixed free of charge.
