Brand New Epson Printer Defective On First Use, Refund Refused

I purchased a brand new Epson EcoTank L3251 printer from Vatan Computer’s Sancaktepe branch in Istanbul, Turkey, on 01.03.2026. During the very first setup on the same day, the printer suddenly started blinking all its lights continuously and became completely unresponsive. The device was clearly defective right out of the box and could not be used at all. I did not misuse the product in any way. I immediately returned to the store on the same day and, as a basic consumer right for a product that is defective at first use, I requested either a full refund or a replacement with a brand-new, non-defective unit. Despite this, the store refused both options and insisted on sending the printer to an authorized service center, stating that I would have to wait up to 10 days. They also added that if the service claimed “user fault,” I would be charged extra fees, which I find completely unacceptable for a device that failed during initial setup. I also contacted customer service, and they only repeated that the product would be sent to service and that I must wait 10 days, without offering any real solution. This approach contradicts basic consumer protection principles and good customer relations. A brand new printer that fails on first use should not be subject to repair procedures; it should be refunded or replaced immediately. My trust in both Vatan Computer and the way Epson products are handled has been seriously damaged by this experience. My request is clear and unchanged: I expect either a full refund for my purchase with invoice number RNG2026000000099 or an immediate replacement with a brand-new, fully functional Epson EcoTank L3251, without any additional costs or delay. I have already filed a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee in Turkey and will continue to escalate this issue on international consumer platforms until a fair and lawful solution is provided.
