On March 14th, 2024, I purchased a Fluffy cleaning head from dyson.com.tr for ₺3,299.00. I used the iyzico payment platform integrated into dyson.com.tr to make the purchase.
After completing the purchase, I was redirected to an error page on dyson.com.tr. I checked my credit card and saw that the amount of ₺3,299.00 had been deducted from my balance and the transaction was listed as "Pending Transactions". However, I did not receive any information about my order from Dyson via SMS, call, or email.
On the same day at 10:11 AM, I called Dyson customer service at ****5321144. The representative I spoke to instructed me to wait 48 hours and did not provide any further assistance or guidance.
After 48 hours, I called Dyson customer service again. This time, I was told that the department responsible for my issue was closed and that I would have to wait until Monday. The Dyson representative I spoke to asked for my credit card information. Before providing my card information, I asked if it was being collected for the purpose of a refund. The representative replied, "No, we are collecting this information to track your payment and create your order."
Today is March 18th, and I made the payment to Dyson 4 days ago. I spoke to Dyson customer service again today and learned that they had taken my card information under false pretenses to initiate the refund process. The Dyson representative told me that I would be called by the relevant department by tomorrow at the latest. In other words, they asked me to wait another 24 hours.
After the call, they informed me that the refund process would begin and would take 14 days. Let's calculate this again. If the relevant department calls me tomorrow, we will be entering the 14-day period, which means that my money will have been with Dyson for a total of around 19 days. The daily interest rate for ₺3,299.00 is around ₺4-5. If we roughly calculate this with 20 days, it means that around ₺100 daily interest income can be earned if the money is invested. Now, let's calculate this situation again with different amounts for hundreds of customers.
Dyson has kept my money for 20 days without providing any service. I called Dyson customer service 3 times during this process and sent a detailed email explaining the issue to d*****@dyson.com.tr. Instead of receiving the service I paid for, I found myself trying to get my money back.
