I recently encountered an issue with my Dyson V7 cordless vacuum, where the dust collection drum in the bottom attachment stopped rotating. After reaching out to Dyson customer service and providing a video as requested, I was shocked to receive a response stating, "Repairs are not conducted on our attachments. Mr. Rıdvan, you'll need to purchase a new attachment." The cost? A whopping ₺2199.
Despite my insistence that it might be a simple repair, they insisted they do not handle such fixes. Unwilling to accept this, I took matters into my own hands, procured the necessary tools, and, through trial and error, discovered a simple break in one of the wires. I reconnected the wire, reassembled the part, and now it works perfectly.
While it took me three hours as a novice, a professional could have done it in ten minutes. Forcing customers to spend ₺2199 on a new attachment rather than allowing a simple repair is not only unethical but also a blatant attempt to deceive consumers. I expected more from a pioneering global brand like Dyson. How many customers have needlessly purchased thousands of attachments for such minor issues? It's a shame, truly.
