On January 25, 2026, I purchased a pair of children’s boots from Decathlon for approximately $65. These boots were advertised as waterproof, but within a short period of use, they tore at the toe crease areas and started to split along the sides. The fact that the product deteriorated so quickly has been extremely disappointing in terms of both quality and durability.

When I wanted to send the product in for inspection under warranty, I was told that because I purchased it in-store, it cannot be accepted via shipping under any circumstances, and I must physically bring it back to a store. I live in Manisa, and there is no Decathlon store in my city—the nearest one is in Izmir. I am being expected to travel to another city, take time off work, and incur additional transportation costs just to submit a defective product for inspection.

During my conversations with customer service, I was only told that “this is our system—products purchased in-store must be returned in-store,” and no alternative solution was offered. I am flexible regarding a refund or replacement; my main concern is having this issue resolved fairly.

I find it unreasonable and not customer-focused to completely reject the option of shipping for inspection, especially for customers living in cities without a Decathlon store. I request that my product be accepted for inspection via shipping, and that my issue be resolved either with a refund or a replacement.
