On July 13th, we booked a one-week car rental through Pegasus using the CarTrawler service available on their app, as we trusted Pegasus for reliable service. We paid ₺16,935 via credit card for the rental, which was supposed to cover our entire trip. However, upon arriving in Tirana, Albania, the car rental company Zezgo was nowhere to be found. After searching, we finally located the office, only to be greeted by a rude representative who reluctantly offered assistance. He took photocopies of my credit card and driver’s license and demanded an unexpected €350 deposit. When I questioned the high deposit and asked for a discount, he suggested canceling the rental and assured us of a full refund within a week.
Believing him, we decided not to rent the car, repeatedly confirming if the rental fee would be refunded. Despite multiple reassurances, we never received the car, and our vacation was spent navigating without a rental, incurring additional transportation costs. Back in Istanbul, after waiting the specified time, Pegasus refused to take responsibility for CarTrawler's actions, stating they could not assist with refunds for third-party bookings. Despite providing all necessary documentation, they informed us after a month that we would not receive a refund. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and costly, with no accountability from Pegasus.
