Unexpected Resort Fee Charged at Las Vegas Hotel Booked on Booking.com

I booked HGH Hotel in Las Vegas via Booking.com under the name James for a stay between 4 June and 5 June. During my stay I was charged an additional 40 US dollars as a resort fee, which had not been mentioned to me at the time of booking or at check‑in. Since this fee was not clearly disclosed in advance by either Booking.com or the hotel, I consider this charge unfair and unexpected. I request that the 40 US dollars resort fee be refunded to me and that the information about such fees be clearly shown to customers before completing their reservations so others do not face the same surprise charge.
