This Place Is Shocking And Unsafe

I booked the apartment named “Opposite the PIER & BEACH, PRIVATE FREE PARKING space, 1 BEDROOM GROUND FLOOR HOLIDAY FLAT, Private Gate & Garden & Bathroom, microwave, Fridge, Opposite Paignton Pier & Beach, Hotel Reception To Happily Help & Greet you, 1 DOUBLE BED & 1 SINGLE BED” on Booking.com for the dates Sunday 13th September to 19th September. I paid a total of £450 through Booking.com for this stay. When I arrived, the apartment was filthy and, in my opinion, completely unfit for anyone to stay in. I have taken multiple photos showing the condition of the property, including the bathroom and other areas, which clearly demonstrate how dirty and poorly maintained it was. Because of this, I told the owner that I could not stay there. During our communication, the owner was intimidating and abusive towards me. Despite this, he stated in writing that he would provide a refund if I did not stay there. I have text messages in which he clearly offers a refund. Relying on this, I left the property early on Monday morning 14th September and had to urgently find and pay for alternative accommodation out of my own pocket. After I left, the owner refused to honour his promise and did not refund any part of the £450, even though I did not stay for the entire booking and left almost immediately because of the property’s condition. I contacted Booking.com customer service multiple times via calls and chat messages, explaining the situation, sending photos and stating that I needed help, but I received no meaningful support or proper communication in return. I am attaching the photos of the apartment and screenshots of the text messages where the refund was promised as supporting evidence. I am very disappointed that I was left in this situation, both by the property owner’s behaviour and by the lack of assistance from Booking.com, despite providing evidence. I request a full refund of the £450 I paid for this reservation, and I also expect Booking.com to review this property and the owner’s conduct seriously, so that other customers do not experience a similar situation.
Booking.com have decided that there is nothing wrong with the accommodation and a compromise can't be added so they have offered me £45 as gesture. What a joke!!!
