My name is Kaye Black***, and I discovered an unauthorised charge on my bank debit card for AUD 1,286.03, processed as a retail purchase dated 22/04/2026 and paid on 23/04/2026. The transaction description on my bank statement states that it is a Booking.com transaction for “flights on Booking.com sydney”. I did not make or authorise any such flight booking. I do have a Booking.com account in my name, and around this time, I legitimately booked a hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, for four nights for my son, David Black***, using his email address (davedav***@hotmail.com); he received the hotel booking confirmation correctly. This hotel reservation is visible in my Booking.com account, but there are no flights of any kind showing in my account, and I have received no emails, messages, or confirmations from Booking.com relating to any flight purchase matching this charge. In addition, I had already booked and paid for my son’s Sydney–Hanoi flights directly with Vietnam Airlines on 16 April under booking reference EBVK7P, using my personal AMEX card, so there was absolutely no reason for me to make any further flight booking around the time I reserved the Hanoi hotel via Booking.com. I have already reported this as a disputed transaction with my bank in Australia, Bendigo Bank. I also managed, after a long search, to send a message to Booking.com about this issue and received a reply asking for further details. When I attempted to respond, my reply went to the wrong address, and I can no longer find the original message from Booking.com in order to continue the conversation, so I have been unable to resolve the matter directly with you. I request that Booking.com urgently investigate this unauthorised “flights on Booking.com sydney” charge and confirm whether any booking exists in my name or linked to my account, my card or to the hotel booking made for my son, David Blackman, using the email address stated above. I expect a full refund of the AUD 1,286.03 to my Bendigo Bank debit card, along with written confirmation that any associated booking, if it exists, has been cancelled. I also ask for a clear explanation of how this booking was processed without my authorisation so that I can be confident my account and payment details are secure in the future.
