Booking.com Charged Without My Consent — I Never Received a Code or Alert

Hello, on April 2, 2025, an unauthorized charge of €396 (around ₺13,700) was made on my credit card under the name BKG*Hotel at Booking.com, without my knowledge or permission. I did not make this transaction and was not booking any accommodation at the time.

I immediately contacted Yapı Kredi Bank to report the issue. The charge appeared as “pending” in my account, but I was told that it could not be canceled while in the provisional status, and would have to go through full processing first. That alone is unacceptable.

What’s worse is that I never received any security message, SMS, or 3D Secure code during this transaction. In today’s digital banking world, how can such a transaction be processed without any authentication or confirmation?

This is a clear case of unauthorized use of my card, and both Booking.com and the bank need to take immediate action. I demand the full amount be refunded without further delay, and I expect both companies to enhance their security protocols to prevent such fraud from affecting others.
