Economy Booking Refused to Refund Me After Rentmotors Gave Lower-Class Car
On July 31, 2025, I booked a 10-day car rental in Antalya through Economy Booking, selecting a Fiat Egea. During the reservation process, half of the €160 rental fee was charged to my credit card. When I arrived at the airport to pick up the car from the Rentmotors office, I was told that the Fiat Egea model I had reserved was unavailable, and they could only offer me an older, lower-category vehicle. I declined this offer.
That same day, I contacted Economy Booking customer service by both phone and email, explaining the issue and requesting a refund for the amount I had already paid. Between July 31 and October 5, 2025, I sent a total of six follow-up emails, but each time I was told they would “get back to me soon.” Eventually, they responded stating that my payment would not be refunded because I had refused to take the vehicle. However, I only refused because the car offered was not the model I reserved.
I request a full refund for the amount I paid and an acknowledgment of the inconvenience I experienced. I also urge Economy Booking to take this situation seriously to prevent other customers from being treated the same way.
