Asus Sold Me The Wrong Laptop Specs – Request 120Hz Model Exchange
On 22 June 2026 I purchased an Asus Zenbook Duo UX8406CA-QL309W laptop from the Vatan Bilgisayar store in Kuşadası, paying a total of 84,599 TL. When buying the device, I clearly stated that I specifically wanted a laptop with a screen refresh rate above 100 Hz. Despite this explicit request, the store manager did not inform me that the model they were selling me only had a 60 Hz display. Before the purchase, when I asked the salesperson about the screen refresh rate, I was misinformed and my clear request regarding Hz was not taken into account, and I was told that this model was cheaper only because of a Father’s Day campaign. There was no information about the refresh rate (Hz) on the product box or on the price tag in the store, so I trusted the sales staff and proceeded with the purchase. After buying the laptop, I later found out that the screen is only 60 Hz and that this is in fact the reason for the lower price, and I consider this as misleading information and a defective product in terms of the promised/use-intended feature (“ayıplı mal”). I also found out that there is another boxed model, the Asus Zenbook Duo UX8406CA-PZ062W, which has a 120 Hz refresh rate and meets the feature I had requested from the beginning. The day after the purchase, on 23 June, I returned to the Kuşadası Vatan Bilgisayar store and requested an exchange for the boxed UX8406CA-PZ062W model with 120 Hz. The staff there refused my request and stated that, because the product was bought in the physical store and not online, they could not exchange it for this reason. In addition to my in‑store visit, I also submitted my exchange request in writing via WhatsApp messages and through the official contact form on Vatan Bilgisayar’s website. I request that my laptop, which was sold without correctly informing me about the screen refresh rate despite my clear request, be exchanged with the Asus Zenbook Duo UX8406CA-PZ062W 120 Hz brand new boxed model, not an opened demonstration stand product, without any deduction or extra cost, and that my consumer rights regarding defective goods and misleading information be respected.
