Amazon Is Always Late On Delivery

I placed an order on Amazon.com on February 25 for the book “In Sunlight or In Shadow: Stories Inspired by the Paintings of Edward Hopper,” under order number 112-2653435-5509049. The book was promised for delivery on February 27, but the date was changed and the new expected delivery is February 28. I had specifically planned to take this book with me out of town, and because of the delay I can no longer do that. This is not an isolated incident but the second late delivery in a week. Just last night I had another order for supplements marked as “put directly in the hand of the resident,” even though I was not at home at the time and the package was actually left in the mailbox. Deliveries are late much more often than they used to be, and tracking and delivery notifications are frequently inaccurate. I am paying for Prime with the clear expectation that items will arrive on the day Amazon promises, yet that is not happening consistently. On top of this, trying to reach customer service has become extremely difficult; the phone number is hidden and the help flow keeps looping without ever properly addressing the issue, so I have been unable to speak to anyone directly about these repeated service failures. I request that Amazon review the handling of this order and my recent deliveries, ensure that Prime delivery commitments are met more reliably, and improve the accuracy of delivery status messages such as “handed directly to resident.” I also expect Amazon to take these repeated delays into account and provide an appropriate gesture of compensation, as I am not receiving the level of service I am paying for with Prime.
