Compulsory Insurance Imposed By Albaraka Türk Bank
I used vehicle financing from Albaraka Türk and, for the first two years, had my insurance arranged through the bank. However, in my third year, I wanted to get a more affordable policy and work with an agency, so I took out a policy from Doğa Sigorta through an agency with policy number 155904662, costing approximately ₺10,000. I added a lien in favor of Albaraka Türk Malatya Branch to this policy and submitted the updated version to the branch. Despite this, Albaraka Türk and Türkiye Katılım Sigorta issued a new policy without my knowledge or consent under policy number 6630755, with a premium of ₺16,000, and set the first installment date as 22.06.2025. While I already had a valid policy, I absolutely reject this imposed and overpriced policy made without my approval. As a legal professional, I want to state that this has no legal basis. As a long-time customer of Albaraka, I request the cancellation of policy number 6630755 and compensation for the inconvenience I have experienced.
The response from the bank is that the insurance policy will not be canceled. If I want to cancel it, a service fee of 2000 TL will be deducted. I do not accept this response. Albaraka victimizes customers in every way. I want the insurance policy to be canceled immediately.
I demand the cancellation of the insurance policy that was made without my consent. Otherwise, I will take legal action.
I am waiting for the cancellation of my insurance from the bank.
