Airbnb Misleading Listing Without Promised Private Bathroom (Reservation HM5AEHN9QF)
Between September 14–16, 2025, I rented a property in Kyrenia through Airbnb with reservation number HM5AEHN9QF. The listing features misleading information: under property details, it stated “private bathroom outside the room”, but in the description, it was mentioned that the bathroom was actually shared. This inconsistency prevented me from making an informed decision when booking. Upon arrival, I discovered that there was no private bathroom at all, directly contradicting what was advertised. I immediately raised the issue with both the host and Airbnb customer service, but no solution was offered. I consider this a case of false advertising, as the listed features did not match reality. As a result, I am requesting a full refund of ₺3,093, the total amount I paid for the booking. Furthermore, during my discussion with Airbnb support, I pointed out that the property details and descriptions were contradictory and misleading. Shockingly, I was told that such practices were allowed and that I could “do the same” if I wanted to, which clearly indicates that Airbnb tolerates deceptive and bad-faith listings. This is unacceptable, and I expect my complaint to be taken seriously with immediate corrective action.
