Airbnb Host Refuses to Cancel Reservation, Leaving Us Without Refund


About three weeks ago, we booked a property through Airbnb for New Year’s. Initially, everything was fine, and we confirmed the details with the host. However, as the reservation date approaches, we reached out again and were told there’s now a problem. The host said they would be occupying the property during our stay and asked us to cancel the reservation.
If we cancel, we won’t receive a refund, so we asked the host to cancel instead. They refused, saying they would face a penalty for canceling. This leaves us stuck without any resolution or refund for a reservation we can no longer use.
We have already emailed Airbnb, but there has been no response. We urgently need someone to help us resolve this issue. The host needs to cancel the booking, and our money must be refunded. Please assist us immediately.
