Airbnb Host Stole My Refund, I Want a Refund

We rented a house through their website and had already paid a portion of the booking. However, due to urgent personal health reasons, we had to cancel the reservation. We explained our situation to the host, who seemed to understand and assured us that our money would be refunded upon cancellation.

Following their assurance, we canceled the reservation. But then, the host refused to refund our money! To make matters worse, Airbnb stated they couldn't do anything to help. I provided Airbnb with all the written correspondence we had with the host, proving their promise to refund, but they still did absolutely nothing. I even filed a complaint against the host, yet they are still actively renting their property to other people on Airbnb.

This is utterly unacceptable. I will never book through Airbnb again. They are allowing fraudulent hosts to operate on their platform and are completely abandoning their customers when problems arise. Airbnb, you need to force this host to refund my money and hold them accountable for their deceitful actions!
