I booked a stay in Six Four les Plages, France (reservation code HMHSAT3*)** through Airbnb and had a highly negative experience. After my stay, I submitted a review describing what happened. To ensure my review followed Airbnb’s guidelines, I even edited it using AI support. However, Airbnb deleted my review without a clear explanation, claiming it violated their policy. Worse, I was not allowed to resubmit a corrected version.
I contacted Airbnb customer service, but instead of receiving a solution, I was left waiting for days with vague and unhelpful replies. Meanwhile, the host’s review of me consisted only of punctuation marks (“?”), which I reported, yet Airbnb did not remove it. Shortly after my review was deleted, the host’s rating suddenly jumped to 5 stars and their name was changed—this is suspicious, as there had been other negative reviews before mine.
This situation makes me feel Airbnb is prioritizing protecting hosts over guests, even though guests are the ones paying the fees. During my stay, I faced a stressful situation late at night, had to look for alternative housing with my pet, and even involved local authorities. Despite this, I was denied my basic right to leave honest feedback about my stay.
I demand that Airbnb restore my right to post a review and take transparent action against unfair practices that silence guests while boosting hosts’ profiles. My experience was extremely stressful, and it is unacceptable that my voice was erased while the host was fully protected.
