I booked an apartment in Sarajevo through Airbnb for June 3–5. During the payment process, I registered my card twice. I entered the code sent to me both times, but the reservation still didn’t go through. Thinking something had gone wrong, I added a second card and finally completed the payment.
However, when I checked my bank account later, I noticed that Airbnb charged ₺40 twice from the first card, once for each attempt—even though the booking had failed both times. I waited a few days hoping it was a glitch and the money would be refunded automatically. It wasn’t.
I then reached out to Airbnb, provided transaction receipts and reference numbers, but their support team simply brushed me off, saying to contact my bank. I did exactly that, and the bank clearly stated the payments were completed successfully—no cancellations or refunds were issued from Airbnb’s end. It’s obvious the money went through and Airbnb is refusing to acknowledge it.
To make things worse, Airbnb closed my support ticket without helping. I opened a dispute in good faith and expected a resolution, not to be ignored and dismissed. It’s ridiculous that a global company like Airbnb is withholding ₺80 and refusing to even investigate the matter properly.
I demand a full refund of the unauthorized payments and a proper explanation. This kind of behavior seriously damages customer trust.
