Academia.edu Raised Annual Fee From 500₺ to 3.000₺ Without Notice

I also experienced a similar issue with Academia.edu. Without any prior notice, the platform increased the annual membership fee from 500₺ to 3.000₺ and directly withdrew the amount from my card. I spent a long time exchanging emails with the company, but none of my efforts brought any results. Finally, I filed a dispute with my bank, and only then was the 3.000₺ refunded to me. The entire process took about 10 days. This situation is both stressful and frustrating, as users should be clearly informed of any price changes before being charged such a significant amount. I strongly advise that such practices are unfair and misleading. I request Academia.edu to stop unauthorized price increases, ensure transparent communication with users, and prevent charges without consent. I also demand that my experience serve as a warning so that others do not face the same problem.
