Wizz Air Charged 72 Euro for Laptop Bag at Stuttgart Airport Without Measurement
On January 7, 2026, on my Wizz Air flight W6 2290 from Stuttgart to Budapest with reservation number ZKGGJC, I was subjected to a completely unjust additional charge during boarding control at Stuttgart Airport. Even though I was carrying only one laptop bag, without any actual measurement or proper inspection, I was told that “this bag would not be accepted” and was forced to pay 72 Euro at the gate under the pretext of “additional cabin baggage.” The fee was charged to my card, and I have the invoice for this transaction. On the same day, I boarded another Wizz Air flight, W6 2341 from Budapest to Rome (FCO), with reference number SI8S4F, carrying the exact same laptop bag, and this time I experienced no issues at all and was not charged any additional fee. The fact that the same airline applied two completely different practices to the same bag on the same day clearly demonstrates that the treatment I faced at Stuttgart Airport was arbitrary, inconsistent, and unfair to the passenger. I would also like to specifically note that the name of the staff member who carried out this transaction at Stuttgart Airport was Nil, and that this person was acting as a Wizz Air employee. Due to this clear injustice and arbitrary practice, I am requesting that Wizz Air fully refund the 72 Euro that was charged at the gate at approximately 4:05 PM on January 7, 2026, and that a written and detailed explanation be provided regarding this unacceptable practice.
