Wizz Air Charged Passenger 60 Euro for Personal Bag That Met Size Rules
On January 19, 2026, at 10:10 AM, I encountered an unfair charge related to my personal bag on my Wizz Air flight from Istanbul to Budapest. My personal bag met the airline’s stated size requirements and weighed 8 kg. Despite this, during check-in, the staff member demanded a payment of 60 Euro for my bag, which I was forced to pay in cash. On the same flight, I observed that other passengers carrying bags of similar size and appearance were not charged any additional fee, and that this charge was applied only to me. A receipt was issued for the payment, and my reservation code for the flight is IN97RG. I believe this practice was unfair and inconsistent. I am formally complaining about the behavior of the check-in staff and the fact that this fee was demanded only from me. I am requesting a refund of the unjustly charged 60 Euro and that the matter be investigated so that similar situations do not occur again.
