I booked a Budapest-Istanbul flight with Wizz Air because it was cheaper, but in the end, it cost me way more than expected. Despite completing my online check-in and getting a confirmation, when I arrived at the airport, I was told there was an issue with my check-in and that I needed to pay 96 euros.
Even though I showed proof of the payment on my credit card, the staff refused to listen and insisted I had to pay again. Another employee later told me I could file a complaint via email, so I had no choice but to pay. To make matters worse, I spoke to another passenger who had the same issue—they had tried checking in online, but the system kept giving errors. It became clear that Wizz Air is charging passengers extra fees under the excuse of check-in issues.
Additionally, when I arrived in Istanbul, I discovered that my luggage was severely damaged—two wheels were missing, and the bag was crushed. At the Istanbul Airport, I filed a damage report, and they gave me a code to follow up via email.
Wizz Air has proven to be completely unreliable, and I will never use this airline again. I will pursue my legal rights to get my money refunded and my damaged luggage compensated.
