My Cat Ate Whiskas Wet Food Pouch And Now He's Puking And Has Diarrhea
I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and I recently received a sample pouch of Whiskas wet cat food in the mail, which I believe was a tuna or salmon variety. The product was not expired. I fed it to my cat, Gremlyn, who ate it all. About an hour after eating the Whiskas pouch, Gremlyn started vomiting and had diarrhea. He also developed watery eyes and a hot forehead, which made me very worried. In addition to these symptoms, he seems uncomfortable sitting on his bum. I have not taken him to the vet yet, but the timing of these symptoms right after eating the sample food makes me suspect there may be something wrong with that product. I have not contacted Whiskas customer service before this complaint. Since I threw the pouch away and it was already collected with the garbage, I unfortunately no longer have the packaging or batch information. Despite this, I want to report this incident so that it can be taken seriously and investigated, because I am concerned that other cats might also be affected. I request that Whiskas investigate the safety and quality of the relevant wet food pouches, review their production and distribution for possible issues, and provide an explanation regarding how such a reaction could happen right after consumption. I also want other consumers to be informed and warned if there is any risk with similar products so that no other pets experience the same situation.
