On April 21, 2025, at 7:55 PM, I had an 11-minute, 58-second call with VakıfBank, during which I requested the transfer of a positive balance resulting from an overpayment on my credit card to my bank account via my debit card. Following this request, 331.08₺ was transferred to my account, and a 30,000₺ available credit limit remained on my VakıfBank credit card. Since my outstanding balance was zero, I specifically requested that my card remain active and not be closed. However, when I logged into the VakıfBank app on April 27, 2025, to check my credit card, I discovered that it had been closed. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that the bank branch closed and destroyed my card without providing any prior notice or obtaining my consent. I would like to file a complaint regarding the resulting grievances: 1) I needed my credit card to process the security deposit for a car rental scheduled for May 31, 2025, at Antalya domestic airport, but I will not be able to complete the rental since my KKB score is too low to obtain another credit card. 2) I had to cancel my rental reservation with Enterprise, which I had made months earlier at a favorable rate; now I will have to rebook under my wife's name at a higher price, costing an additional 300₺. 3) When trying to make the new reservation under my wife's name, we realized her driver's license still carries her maiden name, requiring an urgent renewal at a cost of 1,760₺, which we are currently unable to afford. 4) We had arranged the car rental for our vacation in Antalya and had already paid 5,200₺; now, due to VakıfBank’s actions, we will be forced to use taxis or private transfers, which could cost up to 9,000₺ roundtrip, causing an additional estimated loss of 4,000₺. In summary, VakıfBank’s closure of my card without my request has caused me damages totaling approximately 6,060₺.
