Salary Taken Despite Promise Left With Nothing for a Month
I am a salary customer at VakıfBank and had taken out a restructuring loan. This month, the first installment of that loan—approximately ₺38,000—was scheduled to begin for my credit card and overdraft account. I also had installments from a previously used overdraft account. Even though I can no longer use the overdraft, the bank still pushed me into the negative and set up installment payments for that amount. I was slightly late on my restructuring loan payment. When the head office called me, they gave me until July 23 to make the payment. However, when my salary was deposited, the bank went ahead and deducted a portion of it to set up installments for the negative balance—something they said they would do. They already took ₺22,929 from me under the label of a "partial payment." So now I ask: how am I supposed to survive for a whole month? I had already given them a promised payment date. What about my bills, food, and basic expenses? How am I supposed to live for a month? I am experiencing severe hardship, and this is truly a major injustice.
