Feedback Regarding TK-10273126 #S1-31754796#
On January 30th, I traveled on Turkish Airlines flight TK 0965 from Ercan to Istanbul, seated in 4E. The journey was quite uncomfortable. I paid approximately ₺3000 for this trip and, as an Elite member, selected a front-row seat in the economy class. The seat I chose can be converted into a business class seat and has a table in the middle. When the seat is in the closed position, there is a protrusion, and it feels like you are leaning against a wall due to a hard object underneath. When we boarded the plane, the table was already open. I reported the issue to the cabin supervisor, who acknowledged the problem and mentioned it was the first time encountering such an issue. The supervisor suggested I move to an empty seat at the back of the plane for my comfort (something I could have done myself after takeoff). However, I had purchased a front-row economy ticket and selected my seat. I told the supervisor that either I should be moved to a seat further up or I would stay where I was because all my belongings were there. I did not receive a satisfactory response. The plane had already taken off, and the supervisor offered to stop the plane and let me take the next flight. I had to endure this discomfort for about 2 hours. I can't imagine what it would have been like on a longer flight. Neither on the plane nor with Turkish Airlines could we resolve the complaint. Despite the cabin supervisor acknowledging the seat issue, the investigation concluded that it was problem-free. Previously, I had missed a flight because Turkish Airlines closed the boarding gate 40 minutes early, even though it was stated that the gate would close 20 minutes before departure. In that instance, they found me at fault. Despite numerous email exchanges with Elite service, I did not expect to be found right in this situation, and once again, the same thing happened. I do not prefer to travel with this airline unless absolutely necessary, even though I am an Elite member.
