Turkish Airlines' Unfair Handling of My Pet



During my flight from Erzurum to Gaziantep, with a stop in Ankara, I had a traumatic experience. I followed all of the steps required to have my cat accompany me on the flight. I had scheduled and paid for an appointment on July 5, 2023, to ensure compliance. However, a week before my flight, my reserved seat on the ESB-GZT leg was given to a passenger with a dog. They prioritized the dog due to a delayed flight, forcing me to reluctantly place my cat in the cargo section. Despite my concerns about my cat's respiratory issues caused by the soft carrier, my concerns were dismissed. When I arrived in Gaziantep, I discovered that my cat had escaped from the cargo hold carrier. The haphazardly secured carrier exacerbated the situation, putting my pet's safety at risk. The carrier's condition revealed my cat's distressing conditions, such as nail injuries and bruising from luggage and movement. I photographed and videotaped these incidents. In this situation, I insist on a comprehensive and significant response. If the necessary actions are not taken, I am willing to use my evidence on social media and seek legal recourse to hold the airline accountable for their negligence and mistreatment of my pet.
