Turkish Airlines Ticket Refund Issue
On the evening of July 12th, we arrived at the airport at 18:10 with our flight from Chicago scheduled to depart at 21:10. After waiting for an hour, due to weather conditions, the entire airport was evacuated to shelters, even to the back corridors. Naturally, we left the area and went down. About an hour later, once the danger had passed, an announcement was made, and we returned to our place in line.
At 20:40, our luggage was taken, and our boarding passes were issued. We rushed to the passport queue and arrived at the gate at 20:50. However, they said the gate was closed. Now, I ask the officials of this esteemed institution, how could this be my fault? As a result, 11 people missed the flight. When we returned to the counter, they suggested we buy a new ticket, for the morning flight, and we paid an additional 280 USD to purchase a ticket for 150 USD.
Since the airport is 80 km away, staying at a hotel would cost 80 USD, going home and back would cost 100 USD, and we spent 100 USD on a taxi to get home. I missed my meeting. One of the other 9 people was a military personnel from Incirlik base, and they were immediately taken and sent via another airline.
The remaining 8 people quietly bought full-price tickets, and this esteemed institution caused an unprecedented grievance not even seen in India. I am aggrieved and seek resolution.
