Turkish Airlines Ticket Issue and Compensation Problem
On December 18, 2022, at 19:55, we purchased round-trip tickets for 8 passengers from London Heathrow to Nevsehir Cappadocia via Istanbul Airport, two months before the flight date! One week before the flight, we tried to select seats through the system but couldn't proceed and called customer service! They told us that our tickets were on hold and didn't know the reason! They promised to get back to us with information, but no one did! One of the operators said we could fly if we paid a price difference (£1000), and we have the conversation recorded! They prioritized passengers who paid more, leaving us stranded! We had to fly to Kayseri with another airline and then reach Nevsehir from there, which was quite costly for 8 people! Three days after the flight, we received an email stating that our tickets were canceled due to a system error, and they apologized!
Now, let's get to the most important issue!
Six months ago, I applied for compensation, and two days ago, I received news from the company that filed the lawsuit on my behalf! Turkish Airlines presented to the court that the flight was canceled due to weather conditions, and the court ruled in favor of Turkish Airlines.
But wait! Two other people who were supposed to fly with us did fly to Nevsehir, so how was false documentation presented to the court claiming the flight was canceled?
