Turkish Airlines Ticket Cancellation Issue

I purchased a ticket for my spouse for the Erzurum to Istanbul flight on 28.10.2023 (PNR: rmvvyy / aslan) and another ticket for the same day to Istanbul Kocaseyit Airport (PNR: raydfp / aslan). However, we had to change the ticket due to the cancellation of our Erzurum to Istanbul flight. As a result, we had to cancel our flight to Istanbul Kocaseyit Airport. Out of the ₺900 we paid for the ticket, only ₺81 was refunded. Unfortunately, we were inconvenienced due to the THY flight cancellation. Despite speaking with customer service, our issue was not resolved. I expected a reputable company like THY to address this inconvenience. However, they failed to compensate for the lost time and the unfairly charged amount. We will evaluate our future flight choices based on this experience, even if it doesn't matter to you.

Upon reviewing your feedback, we determined that the TK2705 Erzurum/Istanbul flight on October 28, 2023, was canceled due to the closure of the runway at Istanbul Airport. However, we could not identify another flight on the same ticket that would be a continuation of your journey. Therefore, unfortunately, we cannot positively respond to your request. In cases where there are multiple flights on the same ticket, if you miss a connecting flight due to a disruption in the first flight, we can make free changes to the tickets for that connecting flight. However, if the flights are on two different tickets, we handle the cancellation, refund, and change processes separately for each ticket according to the fare conditions. To avoid experiencing a similar issue in the future, we recommend booking your connecting flights on a single ticket. We kindly ask you to share the invoice for your expenses incurred during the waiting period with us by selecting the "Previous feedback" option on our feedback page. We will be happy to assist you after reviewing and completing our evaluations of your invoice. On the other hand, we regret to inform you that we cannot positively evaluate your compensation request. According to the regulations published by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, airlines do not pay compensation for flight disruptions caused by reasons beyond their control. We would be delighted to accompany you on your future journeys where you will discover new places. It feels like they responded as if we were the ones who canceled the flight. Even though the missed flight was also with Turkish Airlines. Congratulations.
