Turkish Airlines informed me of an operational change for flight TK2677 on 11.12.2023, originally scheduled from Mardin at 17:50 to Istanbul at 20:05. This notification was given the day before my outbound flight on 09.12.2023, stating that the return flight had been rescheduled to 10:15/12:30 on the same day.
However, this change has clear negative impacts on customers. Despite the high costs and extensive preparations made months in advance for this trip, the change was made without consulting the customer, affecting both work and travel plans negatively. Due to this change, I had to reschedule my flight to the next morning (12.12.2023), incurring additional accommodation and car rental expenses. Although I requested compensation for these costs, I was informed that the change was communicated in advance and justified by operational reasons, resulting in no positive outcome.
These reasons are unacceptable; the flight schedule should be considered as a whole, as it was purchased as a round trip. All plans were made for a return on 11.12.2023 at 17:50. However, the change to a 10:15 morning flight takes up the entire day and forces us to return in the morning, disrupting our plans. While we could have returned in the evening, we are now forced to take a morning flight, hindering our daytime plans.
In summary, our three-day Mardin program has been reduced to two days. Additionally, operational changes are Turkish Airlines' responsibility. Customers should not be inconvenienced in this manner. The claim that early notification was given is unacceptable.
Despite creating multiple complaint records and providing feedback over the phone, I have yet to receive a satisfactory response.
