Turkish Airlines Infant Passenger Addition and Payment Issue

We had a ticket for the THY flight TK134 from Houston to Istanbul on September 6 at 14:50. We were planning to return to Turkey with our 15-day-old baby. We waited for check-in to open to add our baby to the flight, but the system gave an error once it opened. We couldn't add the baby. We called customer service, and managed to add the baby, but due to a system error, they couldn't process the payment and informed us that we could make the payment at the airport. However, they didn't specify a deadline for the payment. We arrived at the airport at 12:30, waited for our luggage, and ground services directed us to the ticketing and reservations desk for the baby's ticket payment. At the desk, they initially said they couldn't see the baby in the system. After some effort, they found the baby but then said the payment window had closed, and our luggage was returned to us.

We were not allowed on the flight. We were left stranded at the entrance with our 15-day-old baby. Meanwhile, we tried to reach customer service by phone and finally got through at 14:00. We explained our situation, and they opened a complaint with an urgent note, promising to get back to us within an hour, but no one did. The staff at the airport told us our tickets were forfeited and that we could book the next flight for 900 dollars for the three of us. This is unacceptable; we were so distressed that we decided to buy the tickets since we had no other option and the staff there were not authorized to help further.

We were advised to file a complaint with customer service to get a refund. This time, the ticket price had increased to 1400 dollars. THY not only caused us this distress but also charged us 1400 dollars for the tickets. We had booked a bassinet seat for our 14:50 flight due to our baby, and that payment was also lost. I demand that this distress we experienced with our 15-day-old baby be resolved and that the unfairly charged amount be refunded. Otherwise, I will never be able to forget the trauma of this experience.
