Turkish Airlines Flight TK2612 on May 10: Service Issues and Burn Incident
On May 10, 2024, I traveled on Turkish Airlines flight TK2612 from Istanbul to Diyarbakir at 08:45. During the flight, flight attendant Ms. A**** asked us what we would like to drink but then skipped us and served tea to the passengers in the front rows. When we still hadn't received service, we had to ask her twice. She handed me the tea in a manner that caused it to spill on my leg and arm before I could hold it, soaking my clothes. I requested ice, but since I didn't feel immediate pain, I declined it initially. Later, when my skin started to redden and sting, I asked for medical assistance. Since there was no burn cream available, a bandage treatment was applied. The issue wasn't just the spilled tea; Ms. A****'s tense, rude, and hurried demeanor, her improper service order, her only offering ice after the spill, not reporting the incident to her superiors despite being a doctor (she was called upon my request), and the absence of burn cream on the plane were all problematic. Additionally, the doctor's advice to buy cream from a pharmacy after landing was inappropriate. I don't understand why I should bear the cost of this mistake when compensation is due. I could have had a baby on my lap. I found these behaviors unacceptable, and this journey will remain a bad memory with Turkish Airlines.
