Turkish Airlines Flight Delay on TK2541 from Rize-Artvin to Istanbul
On January 17, 2024, I had booked a ticket for flight TK2541 from Rize-Artvin Airport to Istanbul Airport. From there, I was scheduled to take a connecting flight to Tekirdağ, with the final departure time being 23:30, which meant I would land in Istanbul 40 minutes prior. Having previously traveled the same route with the same airline without any issues, I made the same plan again yesterday. However, the doors for the 20:35 flight opened at 20:30. According to the captain's announcement (despite no prior notification before the flight), there would be a 30-minute delay due to mandatory weather conditions. Yet, there were no such weather conditions observed. The only thing I noticed was that passengers were being boarded at 20:30 for a flight that was supposed to depart at 20:35. Instead of taking a taxi from Istanbul Airport to my home, which would have cost around ₺310-320 and taken approximately 80 minutes, I ended up spending ₺1050 and 330 minutes, including waiting time.
