Turkish Airlines Denied Boarding Despite Early Arrival

Despite arriving early, Turkish Airlines did not allow us to board because the gate was closed. Additionally, they demanded a ₺2000 penalty for booking another flight. We had tickets for the August 5th, 20:50 flight. Although we were at the airport as a family by 20:00, there was a long queue. Time passed while waiting, and it was our turn at 20:14. Then they said the gate was closed and the system was shut down, so they didn't let us on the plane. We were severely inconvenienced, especially with children and babies. They said they could issue tickets for August 9th if we paid a ₺2000 penalty.
This is the first time something like this has happened to me, and I suspect they overbooked the flight and found this as a solution. Other people were also inconvenienced like us. I watched a documentary about Turkish Airlines where they overbook flights and then offer money and hotel stays to passengers to take the next flight. They overbooked to cover cancellations, and we suffered because of it. My first task on Monday will be to file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee. Moreover, I will write about this incident on all platforms.
