Turkish Airlines Damaged My Baggage but Didn’t Compensate It
During my flight from Cyprus to Ankara with THY on 01.12.2023, my suitcase was damaged beyond repair. I reported the baggage issue to THY, and a report was filed. However, it took 14 days for the compensation unit to respond to my claim. In their response, they requested a repair invoice or a letter from an authorized service stating that the suitcase cannot be repaired, seemingly to prolong the process and discourage the claimant. This is a suitcase, not a refrigerator or television that requires an authorized repair service. The THY compensation unit is testing my patience with this unreasonable process, on top of the issue I already faced with my suitcase. THY broke my suitcase and acknowledged their fault with a report at the airport, but they are trying to prolong the process with unreasonable demands instead of providing a solution. I am complaining about THY and the THY baggage compensation unit.
