Turkish Airlines Didn't pay the Compensation for Overbooking
THY has not paid my compensation for overbooking. On 13.04.2024, at Adana Sakirpasa Airport, I accepted the offer from the staff to change the time/date of my ticket in exchange for money.
Normally, the compensation amount should have been given at the counter, but they said they couldn't provide it because they didn't have cash, and that the money would be transferred to my account within 5-7 days. Despite waiting, there has been no response and no payment.
I called multiple times and was told, 'It will be deposited within a maximum of 14 business days.' Today is the 15th business day, and it still hasn't been deposited. When I called today, I received an unacceptable response saying, 'It may take up to 30 days.'
Despite not having such a legal right, they are causing inconvenience to people and not paying their money. They sell extra tickets and force people who arrive 55 minutes before the flight to buy new tickets by not allowing them on the plane. They do not respect people's rights.
When it comes to payment, they make people wait. It will be a month soon, and I don't understand why it is so difficult to fulfill this. I think they ran out of money, distributing it to their own employees. When you call, they don't give a clear answer and just evade. THY, which used to care about customer satisfaction, no longer cares at all.
