Turkish Airlines Bussines Upgrade Error By System
I used my miles to purchase two tickets for the Muscat – Antalya flight dated 20.03.2026. For the economy class ticket with PNR number RWC3KM, I made an additional payment of 20,000 miles within the scope of the business upgrade service. However, when I tried to check in online one day before the flight, the system did not allow seat selection. At the airport, I was informed that my ticket was not in business class, contrary to my expectation after the upgrade. On the same day, I called your customer service and explained the situation. Over the phone, I was told that my ticket was in business class and I was given a transaction reference number. Despite sharing this information with the staff at the airport, the problem was not resolved. During this process, I had to wait standing for about one hour at Muscat Airport together with my parents, who are both over 70 years old. Later, I was informed that the upgrade was only valid for the IST–AYT route segment. During the upgrade process, the system did not provide any clear information indicating that the upgrade would apply only to a specific segment. Likewise, in the automatic notification messages sent to me, there was no statement that the upgrade was limited to a particular flight segment. If such a limitation had been clearly stated, I would not have requested an upgrade of 20,000 miles only for the IST–AYT segment. When I called your customer service a second time, I was informed that there were no available seats in business class and we had to complete the flight in economy class. This situation caused significant inconvenience for us and led to unnecessary loss of time. In light of all this, I kindly request a full refund of the 20,000 miles used for the business upgrade and additional compensation for the inconvenience and time loss experienced by me and my elderly parents.
