Turkish Airlines Baggage Items Stolen and Compensation Issue
During my Chicago-Istanbul flight with THY, I discovered that my baggage did not arrive with me. I received my baggage a week later, and many items inside were stolen by the staff. My loss amounts to ₺43,000 based on the exchange rate of that day, but THY officials insist on offering me ₺30,000. My flight took place on December 10, 2023, and the dollar exchange rate was approximately ₺29. I am requesting compensation based on the exchange rate of that day. I have no demands related to today's exchange rate. Despite uploading the invoices for each stolen item into the system, I cannot receive the compensation for my belongings. Additionally, I am an Elite passenger with THY. I have been waiting for 5 months for my issue to be resolved. I demand that the company address my grievance due to the theft of my belongings by the staff or their failure to secure them, resulting in my loss.
