My son was scheduled to fly from Barcelona to Istanbul, and then transfer to Antalya on July 15, 2024, at 12:30 PM. Upon boarding, he was informed that the flight was full and was offered a spot on the 7:00 PM flight with access to the lounge, which he accepted. After being boarded on the evening flight, they were kept waiting for a long time, only to be told that the flight was canceled due to an engine malfunction. Passengers were then deplaned and had to wait for their luggage for hours. Around midnight, those who wished to stay in another city were made to wait until 3:00 AM. My son was exhausted and sleepless, waiting for a phone message or email until morning. It's been almost 24 hours, and there is still no update from THY. I spoke with customer service, but they have no information either. His father is in intensive care, and we can't find anyone at THY to address our concerns. We are extremely distressed.

I called multiple times and created a complaint record by telling the customer representative about the urgency of the situation and that his father was seriously ill. Still no response. Meanwhile, my son also spoke with the staff at the airport. However, he learned that he still wasn't listed on any of the four available flights today. Following this, a lady who was aware of my son's distress from yesterday helped him. However, another male staff member said to my son, "Brother, you really gave us a hard time," and left. After all our efforts, he managed to board the plane at the last minute by running. Of course, unless something else goes wrong. Additionally, the authorities told my son that they couldn't assist with the Istanbul - Antalya connection and that he would have to handle it himself there. This is the latest situation following the urgent complaint we submitted. Still no response from the company.
