Flight Delay on Turkish Airlines TK734 Ruined Honeymoon Plans and Incurred Additional Costs
We were scheduled to depart for our honeymoon on August 7, 2024, with Turkish Airlines flight TK734 from Istanbul to Male. However, the flight, which was supposed to depart at 02:20, was delayed until 06:10 due to operational reasons. We spent the entire night at the airport waiting for our flight.
Upon arrival at Male Airport after 16:00, we missed our connecting domestic flight to the island, as the last flights had already departed. As a result, we were forced to spend the night in Male city. A new flight was arranged for the following day, and we finally arrived at our honeymoon hotel on August 8, 2024.
Due to this delay, we lost one night of prepaid accommodation at our honeymoon hotel, and we had to pay penalty fees and the cost of a new domestic flight. We request that Turkish Airlines compensate us for the inconvenience and financial loss we experienced due to this delay.
