On October 24, around 9:00 p.m., I made a hotel reservation through Trip.com at the Ibis Styles Dubai Deira Hotel. However, since I was unable to contact the hotel, I decided to cancel my reservation within about an hour of booking — well within what should have been the free cancellation period.
I immediately contacted Trip.com customer service, but they were not helpful and failed to resolve the issue. During our conversation, I was first told that my reservation could not be canceled for free. Later, I was informed that the hotel could authorize a free cancellation at its discretion, but Trip.com agents claimed they were unable to reach the hotel. Due to this miscommunication and misinformation, my cancellation was delayed, and the issue has been ongoing since.
The reservation was made under the name Merve Sıla B****, with reservation number 1688893110394347, and a total of approximately $985 (29,030 TL) was charged to my credit card. Despite my prompt request, no resolution has been provided for over a day.
I am requesting that my booking be fully canceled free of charge and that the entire amount be refunded to my account. Given that the cancellation request was made within an hour of booking, I expect Trip.com to honor my consumer rights and provide a fair resolution immediately.
